Boreat Manor is a very old farmhouse built on different levels and there are steps in the main passage way of the house between the annexe and the main house. There is also a very small step in the breakfast room. There is a flight of stairs leading down to the Issac Room and the Apple Store Bedrooms and another smaller set of steps giving access to the main bathroom. These steps are not highlighted as this would considerably detracted from the character of this lovely old property. Guests are asked to take note of their location upon arrival.
The property to the rear is access by steps from the car parking area and there are further steps giving access to patio areas and to the garden. Boreat Manor may not be considered suitable for wheel chair users.
There are fire extinguishers clearly visible with signage located in the side entrance passageway, the main hall, the boiler room, on the top landing of the main house. There is a fire blanket located in the farmhouse kitchen and in the annexe kitchen.
The Sewage Treatment Plant – This is located to the right of the duck pond in the garden area and guest are asked not to allow children to play in this area and we would ask that guest use the top lawn.
Bonfire and Garden Rubbish Area
This area is located behind the high banks to the left of the double field gates at the end of the garden and guest are asked not to access this area for their own safety.
The Farmyard Area
Guest are welcome to visit the animals at their own risk but please note the area through the metal farm gate is private and should not be accessed by guests at any time.
This pond is fenced and gated and children must by accompanied by an adult at all times.
Ponds in the Paddock
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times and there is a lifebuoy in close proximity to these ponds for emergencies.
Patios and Steps Surrounding the House
These are regularly jet hosed and during cold weather grit is applied to these areas but they can become very slippery at times and guests are asked to mindful of this.
Please be advised that the swing and slide is only suitable for children under the age of 9 years.
The Devon Bank to the rear of the Garden and Paddocks
These banks have been formed from farm rubbish going back many years before we became the owners of the property. From time to time during heavy rain fall some of this old rubbish is exposed some of which is over 100 years old. We check the grounds carefully at regular intervals but we ask guests not to climb on the Devon Banks between the boundary of the garden and the surrounding fields. Please remember that this was once a working farm.
In Case of an Accident
The accident book is kept in the office at Horseshoe Barn the entrance of which can be found through the bug wooden double gates opposite the entrance to Boreat Manor. The office is in the top of the small Barn called ‘Bull Pen’ just inside the gate.
